Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week is here, and what a great opportunity to get out of the house after being snowbound for the past few days! Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week is running January 25 – January 31, with many restaurants extending their restaurant week specials because of the blizzard. During Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week, more than 250 of Washington, DC’s finest restaurants will offer three course lunches for $22 and three course dinners for $35. Just about every cuisine imaginable will be available so Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week is a great time to try something new at an affordable price! Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week is not limited to the city. There are many Northern Virginia restaurants that also participate, so check out the Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week website to see a complete list of participating restaurants and to make reservations.
Alexandria Restaurant Week is running January 29 – February 7 with over 60 local restaurants that range from casual neighborhood favorites to fine dining participating. Participating restaurants are offering a $35 prix-fixe three course dinner or $35 dinner for two. There are also over two dozen restaurants that will be offering $10, $15, and $20 lunch specials. Alexandria Restaurant Week is a great opportunity to explore the different Alexandria neighborhoods of Old Town, the West End, and Del Ray while trying a restaurant or cuisine that you’ve been wanting to try at a bargain price. Some tips for getting the most out of restaurant week:
•Make reservations early, many of the most popular restaurants get booked up.
•Read menus and reviews. Restaurant Week is a good deal at the priciest restaurants. Some restaurants offer pre-fixed menus all the time, so specials during this week may not offer as big a savings.
•When you make your reservation, confirm pricing and that the restaurant is participating in Restaurant Week.
Don’t worry, if you’re not able to take advantage of Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week or Alexandria Restaurant Week, not only will they both happen again in the summer, but there’s also a Northern Virginia Restaurant Week scheduled for the second year in a row the week of March 7 – March 14! Details of participating restaurants for the Northern Virginia Restaurant Week are limited at this time, so be sure to check their website in the next month or so.
