Tenant FAQs
Answers to your frequently asked questions
-
What kinds of information do you check when I apply?
Among other things, we review all applications for credit, good rental references, verification of income, and background/sex offender registry. -
How much money do I need to apply?
You need two checks: the application fee of $55 per adult, and the first month of rent, held pending the signing of a lease. Prior to move-in, we will collect a check for the security deposit (usually equals one month of rent) and any pet deposit. -
Do I need renters insurance?
Yes, you do. The owner’s insurance does not cover any of your possessions. -
When is rent due?
Rent is ALWAYS DUE ON OR BEFORE THE 1st of each month. After that, it is LATE. -
What happens if there is an emergency on the weekend or at night?
Call our 24/7 main office number (703.913.1300) and follow the prompts to resolve the problem or leave a message. We will call you back right away as needed. If it is not a true emergency, we will call you back in the morning and take action to address the problem. IF YOU ARE IN DANGER CALL 911 BEFORE YOU CALL US. -
How do I report non-emergency repairs, problems, or just get in touch?
It’s best to report non-emergency repair requests through the Tenant Portal. Be thorough in your description of the issue. Feel free to give us comments, feedback, and suggestions using this method as well. Always know we read reports and respond promptly.
