Happy October! There are lots of fun events happening throughout Northern Virginia this weekend. If you still don’t see something to do check out our Fall Fun post for a list on on-going festivals and near-by orchards.
Fridays at the Fountain is Crystal City’s seasonal pop-up beer garden that features live music from local bands and musicians. Admission is free, and food and drink are available for purchase. Fridays at the Fountain are every Friday from 5 to 9 pm at the Crystal City Water Park. This week’s performer is Sligo Creek Stompers.
It’s something different each month at First Friday in Historic Downtown Manassas. Celebrate fall this Friday from 6 to 9 pm while you explore the shops, outdoor music venues, and restaurants available.
The Latino American Festival is Friday from 5 to 9 pm at the Arlington Mill Community Center in Arlington. Enjoy authentic Latino food, live music, dance, vendors, kid’s activities and more.
Looking for a scare? Spend Friday evening listening to ghost stories associated with Ben Lomond Historic Site in Manassas. The cost is $5 per person and this event runs from 7 to 8 pm.
Art on the Avenue is this Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria. This multi-cultural arts festival celebrates the diversity of the community. Enjoy live entertainment and kid’s activities while viewing the works of over 300 artists. A variety of food vendors will be available for food purchases. This is a free event.
The Manassas Fall Jubilee is this Saturday in Historic Downtown Manassas. Enjoy games, live music, live entertainment, and a craft show. In addition, the Center for the Arts will be selling sidewalk chalk to use to decorate their parking spaces. The Fall Jubilee runs from 10 am to 5 pm and is a free event.
Clifton Day Festival is Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. Enjoy a day of live entertainment, kid’s activities, food, crafts, and more. This is a free event. Parking is available starting at $5 at the outer lot or $10 in town. The VRE will be offering train service to and from Clifton. The trip to Clifton is free and the return trip is $5/person. Children under 2 ride for free.
Enjoy living history at the Civil War Artillery Day at Fort Ward Museum & Historic Site in Alexandria. From 10 am to 4 pm this Saturday reenactors from the 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery will present firing demonstrations, equipment displays, and a reenactment of camp life for the men who defended Washington during the Civil War.
