Ongoing Fall Festivals - A great way to spend a beautiful fall day is at one of the area’s many fall festivals. Check the websites because many of these festivals have special events scheduled throughout the season.

Cox Farms – Centreville, VA – Open 9/15, 9/16, & 9/22, then daily through 11/6. This is one of the biggest Fall Festivals in our area so plan on spending a couple of hours if you want to see and do everything. There are tons of slides, a corn maze, hay rides, farm animals and more. There is a fenced-in Kiddie Zone for smaller kids, so this is great choice if you need something for kids of varying ages. Admission cost ranges from $6 a person on discount days to $20 a person during the peak season. Children under 24 months are free. Admission includes all the slides, rides, live entertainment, fresh apples, cider, and a small pumpkin to take home. Food sales are available as well as a festival market.

Pumpkin Village – Leesburg, VA – Open Daily 9/15 through 11/6. Pumpkin Village is located at the Leesburg Animal Park, so visitors can visit the zoo animals in addition to enjoying all the fall activities, which are many. Admission cost varies, and ticket prices go up on prime weekends. Admission includes live entertainment, wagon rides, slides, pedal carts, moon bounces, fresh apples and juice, a free pumpkin to take home, and more.

Cows-N-Corn – Midland, VA – Open Weekends 9/22 through 10/28. This family owned farm is about an hour drive from Northern VA. Learn everything you’ve ever wanted to know about cows and farm life while exploring the giant corn maze, riding the cow train, taking a hayride tour, and more. Admission is $10 per person, children 3 and under are free.

Heartland Farm Fall Festival – Markham, VA – Open Weekends 9/8 through 10/28. Enjoy tons of fall fun at this scenic farm in Markham, VA. There’s a corn maze, hayrides, a 60 foot slide, farm animals, and more. Be sure to visit the orchard to pick fresh apples or choose the perfect pumpkin.  Admission is $10 per person, children under 3 are free.

Lake Ridge Nursery and Garden Center Pumpkin Patch – Woodbridge, VA – Open Daily 9/21 through 10/31. Let the kids burn off their energy with a variety of moon bounces, wooden jungle gyms, a zip line, inflatable obstacle course, and more. Admission is $12 per child Monday through Thursday, $15 per child Friday through Sunday and Columbus Day. Concessions are available on site.

Ticonderoga Farm Fall Festival – Chantilly, VA – Open Daily 9/22 through 11/4.  In addition to Virginia’s longest swinging bridge, this festival features jumping pillows, hayrides, pedal carts, slides, rolling tunnels, swings, a goat petting farm, and more. Admission is $10.95 per person weekdays and $16.95 per person on weekends and Columbus Day. Children under 2 are free.

Burke Nursery and Garden Centre Fall Festival and Pumpkin Playground – Burke, VA – Open daily 10/1 through 10/31. Kids of all ages will have fun on the many slides, themed play areas, and hayride.  There are also pony rides, a moon bounce, and the wobble wagon for an additional fee. Concessions are available on site. Admission is $10 per person on weekdays, $14 per person on weekends and Columbus Day.

Apple/Fruit Picking – Spend the day picking your own fruit at one of the many orchards that are less than 2 hours away. Be sure to check the websites or call before heading out to check on availability.
