September Festivals in Northern Virginia

If you are looking for something to do, there are a ton of festivals to choose from during the last two weeks in September. There is something for everyone, so get out and enjoy the beautiful September weather!

Sat., 9/19 – Dulles Day Festival and Plane Pull – Dulles International Airport. 11am-4pm. The Dulles Day Festival & Plane Pull is a Special Olympics Virginia fundraiser that pits teams of 25 against one another to see who can pull a 164,000+ pound Airbus 12 feet the fastest. In addition to cheering the teams, there are plenty of other activities including the annual car show, live music, exhibitors, and military and civilian aircraft display.

Sat., 9/19 – Fall Festival and Taste of Falls Church - 223 Little Falls Street, Falls Church, VA 22046. 10am to 4pm. The Fall Festival and Taste of Falls Church includes live entertainment, pony rides, children's amusements, crafters, businesses and civic organizations, and cuisine from city kitchens. The children's activity tent offers face painting and craft projects. Admission is free to the public, but amusement rides and tasting require the purchase of one or more tickets.

Sat., 9/26 – Friends of Homeless Animals Barktoberfest - 17558 Dry Mill Road, Leesburg VA. 10am-5pm. Bring the whole family, including your pets to listen to live music, play games (kids and dogs), shop from a variety of vendors, eat and drink some great food and beverages, watch canine demonstrations, participate in a Mutt Strut and much more.

Sat.-Sun., 9/26-27 – Workhouse Fall Arts Festival - 9518 Workhouse Way, Lorton, VA, 22079. 10am-6pm. The two-day outdoor Workhouse Fall Arts Festival will include work by artists from across the Mid-Atlantic region, showcasing paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, hand crafted furniture and much more.

Sat., 9/26 – Reston Multicultural Festival - 1609-A Washington Plaza, Reston, VA 20190. 11am-6pm. The Multicultural Festival features a Naturalization Ceremony, International Book Fair, National Heritage Award Fellows, arts & crafts, live entertainment, Art Mirrors Culture 3D exhibit, delicious food, and family activities from around the world.

Sat., 9/26 Clarendon Day -  Clarendon, Arlington 11am-6pm.  Clarendon Day kicks off with a 10k/5k/Kids Dash for runners of all ages. After the fun run there will be five music stages, lots of food choices, a Chili Cookoff Tournament, arts and crafts, and a Kid’s Zone with rides, music, face painting and more! Dogs are welcome to join the fun.

Sat., 9/26 – Manassas Chili Cook-off and Kids Fest - 9201 Center St, Manassas, VA 20110. 10am-3pm. Sign up to cook your favorite chili on-site, sample the chili at 1:00 and enjoy the sounds of the Southern Persuasion Band. Lots of games, face painting and a clown show for the kids!

Sun., 9/27 – South Riding Fall Fest - 42420 Unicorn Drive, South Riding, VA 20152. 12pm-6pm. Enjoy a fun filled day of tasting 20 different regional and international brews, live music, and activities for the kids including Moon Bounce, Face Painting, Henna Tattoos and Sand Art
