Hopefully the weather cooperates because there are a bunch of fun outdoor activities happening this weekend including some festivals to kick-off the start of the fall festival season!

Fridays at the Fountain is Crystal City’s seasonal pop-up beer garden that features live music from local bands and musicians. Admission is free, and food and drink are available for purchase. Fridays at the Fountain are every Friday from 5-9 pm at the Crystal City Water Park. This week’s performer is the JEM Jazz Band.

Celebrate the start of the new school year in Historic Downtown Manassas at First Friday from 6 to 9 pm. Every First Friday of the month is a different theme. There will be lots of fun activities for students, teachers, and families.

The City of Falls Church is bringing back Sunset Cinema in the Park Friday evenings through October 5. Bring your blanket and enjoy a free screening of family friendly films. Popcorn and drinks are available for purchase. This week’s movie is Coco. Showtime is 7:45.

The Annual Burke Centre Festival is Saturday and Sunday this weekend at the Conservancy Festival Grounds. Enjoy live entertainment, a huge arts and crafts show, kid’s activities, rides, games, and more. Parking is available at all 5 Burke Centre Community Centers and free shuttle service will run along Burke Centre Pkwy. Admission is free.

The Great Grapes Wine and Food Festival is this Saturday at the Village at Leesburg from 11 am to 6 pm. Sample over 100 wines from 10 Virginia wineries. Enjoy live entertainment, kid’s activities, food, and more. Tasting tickets are $35 at the door, and include a souvenir wine glass and unlimited samples, kids are free.

The 8th Annual Bands, Brews, and Barbeque is this Saturday from 12 to 6 pm in Historic Downtown Manassas. Enjoy craft beers and spirits, Virginia barbeque, and live music. Admission is $10 for non-tasting and $40 for tasting.

The Rosslyn Jazz Fest is Saturday from 1 to 7 pm at Gateway Park in Arlington. In addition to great live music, there will be bar areas with beer and wine available for purchase. Many of the areas favorite food trucks will be also be available, or if you prefer to sit down, many neighborhood restaurants will be offering discounts to festival goers. Limited parking will be available on N. Moore St. for $5, but people are encouraged to use Metro or bike. Admission is free.

It’s Second Saturday Art Walk at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton. Every second Saturday of the month enjoy extended hours and featured artists from 6 to 9 pm. This is a free event.

Learn about Virginia’s Native American tribes and how they lived this Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm at Riverbend Park in Great Falls. The Virginia Indian Festival will feature demonstrations, storytelling, spear throwing, bow and arrow shooting, and more. Admission is $10 at the gate.

Feeling nostalgic? It’s Black and White Movie Night at the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre in Bristow this Saturday. Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a free screening of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Concessions will be available for purchase. Showtime begins at dark, around 8pm. This is a free event, but donations are appreciated.
