Here's a look at what's happening in our area this weekend. It’s the first weekend of October which means Oktoberfest time!
The 20th Annual Fort Belvoir Oktoberfest is this weekend. If you’ve never been, it’s one of the larger Oktoberfests in our area and features live German music, dancing, cuisine and of course beer! There’s also a carnival, the Volksmarch 10k walk, and vendors. This 4 day celebration is open to the public and admission is free.
The Vienna Oktoberfest is Saturday from 11am to 7pm at Historic Church Street. There will be beer, wine, food, live music, vendors and kid’s activities. Admission is free.
The 17th Annual Capital City Brewing Oktoberfest is Saturday from 12pm to 7pm in Shirlington. Over 65 breweries will be giving out 4oz samples. Admission is free but tickets are $30 to sample beer. Tickets will available for purchase beginning at 11:30am.
The 21st Annual Art on the Avenue is a regional multicultural arts and music festival on Saturday from 10am to 6pm in Del Ray. View art from 350 artist, enjoy live music and free kid’s activities at this free event.
The 34th Annual Fall Jubilee is happening in Historic Downtown Manassas on Saturday from 10am to 5pm. There will be live music, crafts, kid’s activities, and a pumpkin pie contest! This is a free event.
Love chocolate? The Journey church in Springfield is hosting a Chocolate Festival on Saturday from 1 to 4pm to raise money for the Koinonia Foundation. Enjoy two chocolate desert tastings, bounce houses, free hot dogs and ice cream, a magic show, face painting, and more. This is a free event, but there is a fee for the desert tastings. Koinonia is also asking for non-perishable food and gently used fall/winter clothing donations.
