Happy fall everyone! Our first official fall weekend is supposed to be beautiful so it’s a good thing there’s a lot going on. Here’s a look at some events happening throughout our region. Click the links for more details. Historic Occoquan is hosting its Fall Arts and Crafts Show this weekend on Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Over 300 artisans and crafters will display their wares. There will also be live entertainment, food and kid’s activities. Admission is free. The 5th Annual Leesburg Fine Arts Festival is Saturday and Sunday in Downtown Historic Leesburg.  This weekend-long art festival will feature nationally and internationally acclaimed artists from more than 20 states and overseas. Admission is free. The Annual Historic Alexandria Homes Tour is Saturday from 10am to 3pm in Old Town Alexandria. This year’s 75th Diamond Jubilee tour will feature 6 homes and gardens. Visit the Twig Shop at 106 N. Columbus Street to receive your map and brochure. Tickets purchased the day of the tour are $45. The 21st Annual CCE Irish Folk Festival is Saturday from 12 to 7:30pm in Fairfax and will feature live performances, food and dance. Parking and admission is free. The Mad Fox Brewing Company in Falls Church is turning their Market Square into a Biergarten for their Hoppy Oktoberfest event on Saturday starting at 12pm. Sample IPAs and Oktoberfest beers while listening to live music. Admission is free and there will be activities for kids. Runnymede Park in Herndon is hosting NatureFest on Sunday from 1 to 5pm. This free event will feature multiple nature stations, live animal shows and arts and crafts. Author Chris Brenneman will discuss the book "The Gettysburg Cyclorama: The Turning Point of the Civil War on Canvas" during Sunday’s Book Talk at the Manassas Musuem. Book Talk begins at 1:30pm and is a free event. The Fall for the Book Festival begins on Sunday and runs through Friday September 30. This week-long regional festival has events throughout the area for all ages and interests. All events are free. Enjoy your first fall weekend!
