Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend. It’s Fall Festival time, so be sure check out the different festivals that take place all season long.

Kick off the weekend at Crystal City’s Friday at the Fountain. This free event runs from 5 to 9pm and features a free concert and outdoor cash bar. Lena Seikaly will be performing at this week’s concert.

The 15th Annual King St. Art Festival is this weekend in Old Town Alexandria. More than 200 artists from around the world will be displaying their art. The Torpedo Factory will have hands-on activities and the Art League will hold its Annual Ice Cream Bowl Fundraiser.

The Annual Colonial Market and Fair is this weekend at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. Experience living history as artisans demonstrate how crafts were made in the 18th century. You will also enjoy 18th century entertainment including puppet shows, fire eating, magic shows, and more. The Colonial Market and Fair is included with general admission to the estate.

The Prince William Forest Park Heritage Festival is this Saturday from 11am to 5pm. This festival celebrates the parks robust history ranging from the Colonial era through its use as a WWII spy training camp. There will be live entertainment and food vendors available for food purchases.

Reston Town Center’s Chalk Fest runs Friday and Saturday. Artists of all levels can display their creativity on Market Street. Prizes will be awarded for a number of different categories. The cost is $15 for amateur artist, $15 for families, and $20 for professional artist.

Get a head start on Oktoberfest season at Adventure Brewing Co.’s Oktoberfest this Saturday from 12pm to 7pm at the Quantico Corporate Center in Stafford. There will be traditional German cuisine in addition to local food trucks, live entertainment, and German style beers. This is a family friendly event and admission is free.

The Discover Arlington Fitness and Wellness Festival is this Saturday from 1pm to 5pm at Arlington’s Gateway Park. Local fitness studios will offer 15-minute mini-workouts to allow participants to experience what Arlington fitness studios have to offer. There will also be a relax and rejuvenate area that will offer healthy snacks, facials, yoga, and more. See website for ticket information.

The Nauck Civic and Community Pride Day is this Saturday from 12pm to 6pm at the Drew Model School and Community Center in Arlington. There will be live entertainment, local vendors, a kids pavilion, fish fry and BBQ, and more.

Bring your furry friend to Pups and Pilsners this Sunday from 2pm to 6pm at the park at 12th and Crystal City Dr. in Arlington. Admission is free, tasting tickets are $25 at the door and include a souvenir glass and 10 tastings.

Sunday’s Free Book Talk at the Manassas Museum will feature author Joseph D'Arezzo who will discuss his book Virginia in the Civil War. The talk will begin at 1:30.
