Happy June! Check out what’s happening throughout the area this weekend. Many popular free summer events have started. Next week marks the beginning of the area’s free concert series so stay tuned for a list of performances!
Fridays at the Fountain is a free concert and pop-up beer garden in Crystal City that occurs every Friday beginning in May and runs through October. This completely free event is from 5 pm to 9 pm. Food from the area’s favorite vendors will be available for purchase at The Stand. This Friday will feature a performance by The Duskwhales.
Do you like trivia? If you answered yes, then you might be interested in Trivia Nights at Lee-Fendall House. This bi-weekly event will run throughout the summer and will cover pop culture, history, and everything in-between. This week’s Trivia Night is Friday, 5/31 at 7 pm. Tickets are $7 per person and includes 1 drink ticket. Teams may have up to 6 members. This is a 21 and over event.
The 75th Commemoration of D-Day is this Saturday, 6/1 at Waterfront Park in Old Town Alexandria from 11 am to 4 pm. There will be children’s activities, WWII reenactors, live music, food, and a wine garden. This event is free and open to the public.
Saturday, 6/1 is Dairy Day at Loudon Heritage Farm Museum. Learn all about Loudon’s dairy industry while eating ice cream with a Virginia Dairy Princess and doing dairy related activities. All events are included with museum admission.
The Netherlands Carillon Live Concert Series is back starting June 1. The 50 bells of the Netherlands Carillon hang in an open steel tower in Arlington and offer beautiful views of DC. The free live concerts are every Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm all summer.
The 11th Annual Taste of Del Ray is this Sunday from 1 pm to 3 pm. Ticket holders will get unlimited tastes from 18 of the area’s top restaurants. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
