Here’s a look at what’s happening this weekend.

Santa Lights Manassas tonight starting at 5:15 pm in Historic Downtown Manassas. Enjoy live musical performances, free wagon rides and more while waiting for Santa to arrive on the VRE to light the tree.

The Greater Manassas Christmas Parade is this Saturday starting at 10 am at the intersection of Mathis and Liberia. Considered of the largest holiday parades in Northern VA, this parade features marching bands, floats, high-flying balloons, and more.

The Scottish Christmas Walk Parade is this Saturday in Old Town Alexandria. The parade begins at St. Asaph and Wolfe Streets and concludes at Market Square with a massed band concert. While in Old Town, stop by the Carlyle House for a free Open House and to experience A Soldier’s Christmas from 12 to 4 pm.

Get into the holiday spirit at Gunston Hall this Saturday from 10am to 7pm. There will be crafts, games, and Santa! Tickets are $15 per adult, $10 kids ages 6-18 and can be purchased online.

The Alexandria Holiday Boat Parade of Lights is Saturday evening. Dockside festivities will be 2 to 8 pm at the Old Town Waterfront and will include music and giveaways from 97.1 WASH-FM, holiday crafts, and more. Pop into the Torpedo Factory to see Santa and Mrs. Claus starting at 3:30 pm! The parade will start at 5:30 along the Potomac River.


Ongoing Seasonal Activities

Bull Run Festival of Lights – Centreville, VA. Drive through 2.5 miles of festive lights. Visit the holiday village afterwards for rides, refreshements, and a visit with Santa. Cost ranges from $20 - $25 per vehicle.

Meadowlark Winter Walk of Lights – Vienna, VA. View the botanical gardens tranformed into a half-mile walk of lights. Warm up afterwards with hot beverage and smores that are available for purchase. Admission is $14.50 per adult, $8 kids 2 to 12. Timed tickets are required.

Ice and Light the Winter Village at Cameron Run – Alexandria, VA. Enjoy iceskating and beautiful lights. Pizza and donuts are available for purchase. General admission is $ 5 per person. Ice skating is $8 per person and skate rental is $4.

Winter Wonderland at Burke Lake – Fairfax Station, VA – Saturday and Sunday 12 to 5 pm. Enjoy train rides, spins on the carousel, Gingerbread Man Golf, s’mores, and more. Passes are $20.

Celebration at Burke Lake – Fairfax Station, VA – Friday and Saturday from 6 to 9 pm enjoy a train ride with lights and holiday scenes. Tickets are $10 per person.
