One of the best parts of living here in the summer are the amazing free concerts that happen every weekend. Here’s a look at what’s happening throughout our area this weekend in addition to a list of the area’s free concerts.

Have you ever considered living in a tiny house? If so, the 2018 DC Tiny House Festival is for you. This weekend long event runs Friday through Sunday at the Prince William County Fairgrounds in Manassas. Tour models, learn how to build your own tiny house, enjoy live entertainment, kid’s activities, and more. Admission on Friday after 5pm is free. Otherwise, Friday admission is $10, Saturday and Sunday admission is $25 per day or $40 for a 2-day pass. Kids 12 and under are free.

If you enjoy trivia, check out the bi-weekly Trivia Nights at Lee-Fendall House. Admission is $5 per person which includes 1 drink ticket. Teams may have up to 6 members. Space is limited so online registration is recommended. This week’s Trivia Night is Friday from 7 to 9pm.

The 23rd Annual Columbia Pike Blues Fest is this Saturday from 1 to 8:30pm in Arlington. Enjoy live music, arts and crafts vendors, kid’s activities, and more. Admission is free.

The annual Innovations in Flight Family Day and Outdoor Aviation Display is this Saturday at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly from 10am to 3pm. See how aviation has changed over the last century, talk to pilots, and learn about flight through hands-on STEM-based activities. This is a free event, but there is a $15 parking fee.

Take a cruise along the Potomac River and view Confederate blockade sites during the Potomac Blockade Boat Tour this Saturday from 10am to 1pm at Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge. Tickets are $45 and include lunch.

  • Ossian Hall Park, Annandale – Taiwan Cultural Heritage Night ‘Hai Hua Community Center (Taiwanese Dance & Music). 7:30-8:30pm
  • Lubber Run Amphitheater, Arlington - The Grandsons (Rock/Blues). 8pm

Sunday, June 17

  • Mason District Park Amphitheatre, Annandale - City of Fairfax Concert Band. 7:30-8:30pm
  • Lubber Run Amphitheater, Arlington – “Hamiltunes:” Sing-Along with Encore Stage. 6pm
