Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend. There are a lot of festivals so hopefully the weather cooperates!

The 38th Annual Herndon Festival runs through the weekend in Historic Downtown Herndon. There will be live entertainment, vendors, carnival rides, a Kids’ Alley with crafts and activities, races and fitness expo, and much more. Admission is free, tickets are required for carnival rides.

The Vintage Virginia Wine and Food Festival is Saturday and Sunday at the Bull Run Special Events Center in Centreville. Over 20 Virginia wineries will be represented in addition to a full line-up of musical performances and local foods and food trucks. Ticket prices vary depending on whether you plan on wine tastings or want admission to just the concerts.

The 2018 Occoquan Arts and Crafts Show is Saturday and Sunday in Downtown Historic Occoquan. Find one of a kind hand crafted items from a variety of crafters. There will also be live entertainment and food available. Admission is free but there is a $5 parking fee for satellite parking.

The 24th Annual Heritage Railway Festival is this Saturday from 10am to 3pm in Historic Downtown Manassas. Learn about the history of the Manassas railroad while enjoying live entertainment, railroad displays, vendors, and more. Take a break from walking with a 40 minute train excursion to Clifton and back. Admission is free, but there is a fee for the train rides.

Help the planet at the 30th Annual Clean the Bay event at Liberia historic site in Manassas from 9am to 12pm this Saturday.

Sunday’s Free Book Talk at the Manassas Museum will feature author Garrett Peck who will discuss his book Capital Beer. The free talk begins at 1:30.
