Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend

The Holiday Open House on the Lawn is Friday evening from 5 to 8 pm at the Manassas Museum lawn. Enjoy music, entertainment, the arrival of Santa by VRE train, and top the evening off with the City Tree Lighting at 6:15 pm.

The City of Fairfax Festival of Lights and Carols is this Saturday from 12 to 6 pm at Old Town Square. Enjoy caroling, s’mores and hot cider while shopping at the Holiday Market. End the day with the tree lighting at 5:30 pm.

The Greater Manassas Christmas Parade is this Saturday starting at 10 am. Watch as over 2,000 participants bring in the holiday season with marching bands, floats, high-flying balloons, and more.

The Scottish Christmas Walk Parade is Saturday starting at 11 am in Old Town Alexandria. The parade will begin at St. Asaph and Wolfe Streets and end at Market Square.

Pentagon Row’s Frost Fest is Saturday evening from 5 to 8 pm. This holiday celebration will feature an on-ice firework display, live entertainment, food samples, and the chance to win a shopping spree.

The 41st Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show run Saturday and Sunday at the Audrey Moore RECenter. Nearly 100 of the areas finest artisans and crafters will exhibit handmade arts and crafts. Admission is $2 per person, children 12 and under are free.

The Herndon Holiday Arts and Crafts Show is Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Over 90 artisans and crafters will display their wares. Parking and admission are free.

Sunday’s Free Book Talk at the Manassas Museum will feature author Charles V. Mauro who will discuss his book, We Once Met By Chance: Four Life Stories of the American Civil War. The free talk will begin at 1:30 pm.
