Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend:

Enjoy an evening of music at Old Town Hall in Fairfax with the Bonita Lestina Performance Series. Friday’s performance will feature Seth Kibel & Tom Teaseley “Tiny Planet” Winds & Percussion. The free performance will begin at 8pm.

Stay up late this Friday in Old Town Alexandria. From 7 to 11pm explore the history of Alexandria at The Late Shift: Uncovering the Waterfront where artist and innovators will host an evening of music, trivia, and more. This is a free event.

The 2018 Feel the Heritage Festival at the Charles Drew Community Center in Arlington is this Saturday from 1 to 6pm. This annual festival highlights Arlington’s African-American History and Culture. This free event features live entertainment, food, vendors, kid’s activities, and more.

The celebration on George Washington’s birthday continues this weekend. The George Washington Symposium is Saturday from 1 to 3pm at the George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria. The theme of this year’s symposium is “Envisioning a Great Nation: Where George Washington’s Journeys Took Him.” This is a free event, but pre-registration is required.

Also, in celebration of our first president is a free walking tour this Sunday from 2 to 3:30pm in Old Town Alexandria. The tour will begin at the Alexandria Visitor’s Center and participants will get to see where Washington went for entertainment, got his prescriptions filled, and where he spent the night.
