System - Tuesday, August 11, 2015
It’s county fair time, and despite living in an urban area, our local county fairs will not disappoint. They have everything you would imagine a county fair to have including livestock, carnival rides, games, contests, and lots to eat. Some of the fairs even have rodeo events and tractor pulls! The Loudon County Fair is winding down, but it’s not too late to go. The fair ends on Saturday August 1 and has a carnival rides and  games, live entertainment, livestock demonstrations, contests, and food vendors. Check out the schedule on their website for a complete list of contest and entertainments, especially the always popular Kiss a Pig Contest! Tickets at the gate are $10.00 per adult; $5 per child ages 6-12; ages 6 and under are free. In addition to the 4-H exhibits and animal shows, there will be carnival rides, old fashioned games, live entertainment, a tractor pull on Saturday, and food and beverage sales. Leashed dogs are welcome. The fair is held at Frying Pan Farm Park, located at 2709 West Ox Rd, Herndon, VA 20171.
