Happy Columbus Day weekend! Here’s what’s happening throughout our area. Please click the links for additional information and possible rain dates. Are you ready to get into the Halloween spirit? The Manassas Museum is offering a cemetery tour Friday from 8pm to 9:30pm. Learn about how the Confederate Cemetery was established and who is buried there. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at Echoes the Manassas Museum store. On Saturday in Manassas, the BadWolf Brewing Company is hosting its Annual Fall Festival from 2 to 8pm. There will be live music, food trucks, and of course, lots of beer. Tickets are $15 at the door. On Saturday the City of Fairfax is hosting its 40th Annual Fall Festival. The festival is from 10am to 8:30pm in historic downtown Fairfax. There will be arts and crafts, food vendors, kid’s activities and live music. In case of rain, the festival will be moved to Sunday. Admission is free. The Reston Oktoberfest is Saturday from 12 noon to 11pm. There will be tons of food vendors, beer and wine, live German music, and a Market Street Game Zone featuring face painting, glitter tattoos, giant Jinga, giant chess, corn hole, and more. Tickets are required for food, beverages and most activities. On Saturday from 11am to 3pm the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in Leesburg is hosting a Virginia Outdoors Festival to celebrate 50 years of conservation. There will be guided ecological walking tours and various demonstrations throughout the day. The 21st Annual Art Safari is happening at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria on Saturday from 12 noon to 4pm.  Be prepared to get messy while having fun with 12 hands-on projects led by dozens of artists. The 2016 Clifton Day Festival is on Sunday from 9am to 5pm. There will be arts and crafts, antiques, live music, kid’s activities, food vendors. Admission is free, but parking is $5. The VRE will also provide roundtrip train service to Clifton from all stops between Manassas and Rolling Road for $5 on the return trip. On Sunday the Rotary Club of Manassas is holding its 1st Annual Steins, Wine & Spirits Festival from 12pm to 5pm at Historic Downtown Manassas. There will be live music and food trucks in addition to local breweries, wineries and distilleries offering samples. Discounted tickets can be purchased online through Friday and will be $35 at the door. Arlington is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at the Latino American Festival at the Arlington Mill Community Center. The festival will be Sunday from 1 to 5pm and will feature live music, authentic Latino food, artistic presentations, kid’s activities, and more. This is a free event.
