August 24 – Weekend Events

Fred Westerlund - Friday, August 24, 2018

Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend.

Rosslyn Cinema and Pub in the Park is a weekly event every Friday in Gateway Park in Arlington. Bring a blanket and enjoy your favorite beverage from the mobile pub or get some popcorn and more from one the local food trucks. This week’s movie is Four Weddings and a Funeral. The movie starts at dusk, but the Pub in the Park opens at 5pm.

It’s Manassas History Weekend at the Manassas Museum! This event focuses on the regions wartime and peacetime military history. There will be artillery and infantry firings, living history demonstrations, Book Talks presented by local authors, and more. This is a free event.

Alexandria’s Irish Festival is Saturday from 11am – 7pm at Alexandria’s Waterfront Park. Celebrate Irish culture with music and dance performances, food, craft vendors, and more. Admission is free.

This weekend is your last chance to take advantage of Alexandria Restaurant Week. This is a great opportunity to enjoy discount meals at some of the area’s most popular restaurants. Over 60 Alexandria restaurants will feature a $35 three-course dinner or a $35 dinner for two. Over 25 restaurants will also offer special lunch menus at $15 or $22 per person. There are also 15 restaurants offering $15 or $22 per person brunch menus. Visit the Open Table Alexandria Restaurant Week website for a complete list of participating restaurants and to book online reservations.
