Here’s a look at what’s happening on our area this weekend.

The Celebrate Fairfax Festival starts Friday June 9 and runs through Sunday June 11. There will be carnival rides, live music, fireworks, exhibits and more. Tickets at the door are $15 for 13 and up, $5 for kids aged 3-12. Discounts are available if tickets are purchased online. Free parking is available at Fair Lakes Circle and Fair Oaks Mall with shuttles running to and from the festival entrance.

The Tinner Hill Blues Fest starts Friday June 9 and runs through Sunday June 11 in Falls Church. This festival features live blues music, craft beer, BBQ, and family friendly activities. Tickets are $25 at the gate.

Ben Lomond Park is introducing a new series called History Happy Hour on Friday. The $15 admission includes 2 drink tickets to use while exploring the historic park. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 and participants must be 21 or older.

The 2017 Chalk on the Water is happening at Lake Anne Plaza in Reston this Saturday and Sunday. This street-painting festival is open to all artistic levels ranging from amateur to professional. The cost of plots range from $10-$15 and prizes will be awarded to various categories.

Mason Neck State Park in Lorton is hosting a Back to the Bay event on Saturday from 10am to 3pm. There will be live music, boating activities, educational displays, oyster samples, and more.

The Taste of Woodbridge at Stonebridge Town Center is Saturday from 11am to 6pm. It features a variety of food vendors, a DJ, and activities. Admission is free.

Author Ryan Quint will discuss his book “Determined to Stand and Fight” at Sunday’s Free Book Talk at the Manassas Museum. The talk begins at 1:30pm. Afterwards, participants can enjoy a self-guided 9 stop driving tour.
