Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend.

Circus de Mayo Family Night @ The Mill is this Friday from 7pm-9pm at the Arlington Mill Community and Senior Center. This free event will feature a DJ, crafts, circus games, a live performance by the Army Latin Combo Band, and more.

Pirate Fest is happening this weekend at Lake Fairfax Park. It’s a fun way to learn about Virginia’s nautical history. There will be seafaring music, pirate stories, treasure hunts, and much more! The festival will be held rain or shine, Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm. Cost is $10 per person.

It’s Revolutionary War Weekend at George Washington’s Mount Vernon. This is one of the biggest Revolutionary War reenactments in the region. There will be kid friendly activities, a replica of George Washington’s Headquarters Tent, and even George Washington, himself! All events are included with regular admission to the estate.

The Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre in Bristow is hosting a Kite Day on Saturday. Visitors can bring their own kite and picnic lunch to enjoy on the lawn. There will also be face painting, kite making, and horseshoes.

Sunday’s Free Book Talk at the Manassas Museum will feature author Charles A. Mills who will discuss his latest book, “The Civil War Wedding.” The free talk begins at 1:30pm.
