Here’s a look at what’s happening in our area this weekend.
The Rosslyn Holiday Market Festival and Bonfire is Friday and Saturday in Arlington. The Holiday Market opens at 3pm on Friday with the Pub in the Park opening at 5:30 featuring food trucks, activities, and beverage sales. The bonfire and DJ start at 7pm, and a live 80’s cover band will perform from 8 to 11pm. The fun continues on Saturday, starting with the Great Chocolate Race at 7:30 am followed by the opening of the Holiday Market and Pub in the Park at 8am. There will be various holiday activities and entertainments throughout the day.
The Holidays through the Ages display continues this weekend at Rippon Lodge with a special visit from Santa on Saturday from 1 to 3pm. Admission to Rippon Landing is $5 per person, under 6 are free. The Santa event is $2 per child.
It’s Winter Wonderland at Burke Lake Park this Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Enjoy Holiday Express train rides, U.S.S Rudolph boat rides, the Caroler’s Carousel, Gingerbread Man’s golf, and hot chocolate with Santa.
The Occoquan River Communities is hosting Winterfest this Saturday with a day of events throughout the Occoquan area. The day kicks off with a Santa Parade in Lake Ridge from 11am to 12pm, a holiday market at Tackett’s Mill from 12 to 4pm, caroling, music and fire pits at Historic Occoquan from 4 to 7pm, the Second Saturday Art Walk at the Workhouse Arts Center featuring fire pits and caroling from 6 to 9pm, and ending with a fireworks display that can be viewed from Occoquan or the regional park.
There will be free carriage rides in Historic Downtown Manassas Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4pm. Carriage rides begin at the Train Depot and take you on a tour of the sights and sounds of the season.
