Here’s a look at what’s happening this weekend.
Santa will be in Old Town Alexandria this weekend. He will be available for free photos Saturday from 9 am to noon at City Hall Market Square. He will also be at Alexandria Fire Department Station 201 on Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. Photos at the Fire Station are $10 with proceeds going towards a toy drive.
There’s a Winter Wonderland Train Show at the Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory in Manassas all weekend long. Scale train towns will be decked out for the holidays. This event is free, but they are asking for canned good and unwrapped toy donations.
Celebrate Holidays through the Ages at Rippon Lodge in Woodbridge. Tour the historic house where various rooms will be decorated to represent different time periods. The tour costs $5 per person, children 6 and under are free. Hours are Friday through Sunday from 11 am to 4pm.
The Northern VA Model Railroaders are holding an open house at their headquarters in Vienna from 1 to 5pm on Saturday.
There will be free carriage rides through Historic Downtown Manassas on Sunday from 1 to 4pm. The rides will begin at the Train Depot.
